Cabana El Atardecer | Vinales, Cuba

While making your journey through Cuba you will quickly become familiar with Casa Particulares. These are family homes that rent out bedrooms to travelers at a low cost. They are everywhere and it can be tough to figure out just which one to choose!

In Viñales, there is one Casa that stands out from the rest. It’s the home/farm of China and Jose Luis. Located amidst a perfectly quaint tobacco and produce farm, this accommodation is sure to blow you away with its sheer beauty. That should be enough of a selling point for you, but I’m going to take it one step further… the family that lives here is remarkable. Incredibly charismatic and inclusive, they will make you feel like part of the gang!

Why Stay Here?

The accommodation is BEAUTIFUL.

The view is unbeatable. Tobacco farms, mountains, sunrises and sunsets.

The family is simply the best. Seriously, the most welcoming and kind people I met in all of Cuba!

The food will tantalize your taste buds! Everything comes fresh from their garden and they even offer some great cocktails. They will even adjust the meal based on your budget.

  2. Hi!
My daughter (16yo) and I are visiting Cuba next August, and would love to discover Vinales area.
You place looks so great ; we’d love to stay there from August 22 to 24 (3 nights)!
    Have you got availabilities?
Arriving and leaving from Vinales by Viazul bus, is that easy to reach your place? and to go to Cayo Levisa? and even early (on August 25, the bus to Trinidad is at 6:45 am)?
    Many thanks!
    Patrice.

  3. Hi Patrice,
I’m not the owner of the property but would be happy to get in touch with them for you. When you say next August, do you mean August 2016 or 2017? If you are arriving via Viazul Bus, the farm is VERY easy to get to – within walking distance!!

  4. Hi!
We’re a couple from Germany and would like to visit Vinales from Jan 2-4th, 2017. Do you have a contact adress I can write to in order to book this beautiful place? 🙂 Thank you!

  5. Hi,
The best way to book accommodation is to call the family directly – their number is at the bottom of the post. If you have any problems getting in touch with them, let me know and I will see what I can do for you! Do you speak spanish?

  6. we have booked, how do you get there after getting off the viazul bus? need specific instructions please 🙂 also, wondering if they speak english? thanks!

  7. That’s great! The bus will drop you off in front of a church on the main street (there is only one main street). From the main street, head west – the tobacco fields and mountains will be on your right. Turn right onto Calle Adela Azcuy Norte. If you pass the bakery you are on the right street. Head down that street, which will quickly turn to dirt. Turn right on the first dirt road, and follow it as it turns left. Then turn right at the first chance. Their home is straight ahead on the right. If in doubt, ask for Jose and China. The walk will maybe take you 10 minutes.

They don’t speak any english. However, they are incredibly friendly and speak slowly. If you know basic spanish, you will be able to converse, but if not you will still have a great time!

When you get off the bus, you will be swarmed with people trying to get you to stay in their Casa Particulares. Tell them you already have a place and ignore them if they say anything negative about it or that it’s closed… However, most of them speak english and you can ask them for directions 🙂

Please don’t hesitate to ask any more questions you might have!

  10. Maybe a silly question, but…how is the bathroom?
I was not going to sleep in Viñales but now is kind of impossible not to 🙂

  11. That’s a VERY important question!! haha the bathroom is perfect. Flushing toilet, a sink, clean shower and a mirror 🙂

  12. Hi!! My father and I have booked a few nights with Jose Luis and China in April. We would like to give them a give each of them a gift for letting us stay with them. We have an idea for Jose Luis but are open to suggestions and would love to know what China might like/find useful
